Learning a new sound while diapering.... P

We had a playdate with Lucy today, which was fun... except for the girl germs (from all of Lucy's hugs). They had a great time running around our baby-proofed house, laughing and squealing with delight. Sydney and Lucy were both sad when it was time for them to go home to eat lunch.

Sydney's tooth #7 must be bothering him... he was fussy unless he was 1) nursing, 2) held or 3) distracted with playing. (Hopefully, the Tylenol before bed will keep him sleeping through the night.)

While diapering before bed, in Sydney's jibberish baby language, he asked (what sounds a lot like) "What's that?" as he UM.... "assisted" in diapering.

Like usual, I informed him "That is your penis."

He smiled.

I finished diapering him, wrestling his hand(s) out from his diaper. I leaned in close(r) to his face and said "Puh, Puh, Puh, penis."

Instantly, he mocked me. "Puh," he paused to smile in recognition of his newest achievement. "Puh, puh, puh" he repeated.

Sydney was Puh, puh, PROUD! (We even went upstairs to tell Daddy his newest sound.)

Sydney is like a sponge; he soaks up SO MUCH each day!
