Happy Anniversary, honey! I love you!
Today, Mike and I celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. On that beautiful Sunday morning, two years ago, my Uncle casually married us aboard the Grand Belle of Geneva in front of our parents and my brother and (now-turned) sister-in-law. Our Uhaul was packed, except for the cats, and following the brunch cruise, we were ready to drive off on our newly married adventure as we moved out-of-state to MN. Mike wore cowboy boots to our wedding because they were the only shoes he could find that hadn't been packed away in the Uhaul.
Mike had already started his job promotion and I was excited (and a little nervous) to join him far away from home. We looked forward to our return trip to WI in October to have our fancy wedding (on the same boat) but knew that there would be NOTHING to be nervous about since we already married. My dad made the voyage to help us unload our Uhaul since Mike had to get back to his new job the very next day. (Thanks again for all of your help, Dad! We couldn't have done it without you!)
We called a 2BR2BA apartment in MN "home" for 7 months, before relocating mid-way through our pregnancy to his newest promotion opportunity in IA. We now own a 3BR1.5BA home in IA that is 35 miles from Mike's dad and less than 3 hours from my parents. We have made our house a home with the addition of our son 13 months ago.
Life IS good.
