WI weekend, Rachel's baby shower, 34wk belly

We enjoyed a weekend in WI - visiting with family.

Friday afternoon, I picked up my maternity compression stockings from the pharmacy that were special ordered for me. ($84+ tax!!!! OUCH!!!)

Friday night, we enjoyed a fish fry (all-you-can-eat perch) at our favorite local establishment with Grandma & Grandpa Olson AND Great-Grandma Mahoney. Like usual, it was DELICIOUS!

Saturday morning, we went to visit best friend Kerri, husband Greg and their 2 adopted dogs. (Happy Birthday Kerri!)

Saturday afternoon, the boys stayed home (with Grandpa Olson) while the girls and Auntie Karin went to a baby shower for cousin Rachel. (We sure hope Rachel & Jeremy have a girl... because they got A LOT of pink stuff!!!!) It was a beautiful shower.

You're looking at a 33wk belly and a 34wk belly pic:
Rachel's baby GIRL is due May 14th. Silas Jacob is due May 7th.

This morning, we enjoyed breakfast with Auntie Karin, who spent the night.... AND we all got to visit with Uncle Mike at his apartment in Florida. (Sure is nice to have modern technology, like webcams and internet!)

We also got to go through my grandmother's house today because the realtor was having an Open House there and I happened to see the sign posted. That was nice to see what they've done to the place since it left our family's hands two owners ago. Ahhhh, the memories...

We also got our federal taxes done and filed over the weekend and are thankful that we're getting a refund back; Mike hopes that it is enough money to get my veins fixed this year.

When we got home this evening, Sydney had just woken up. He started to cry as Mike carried him into the house. We asked him "What's the matter?"

"Papa. Nana. Woof." he replied between the tears.

He was sad that we were home, as he OBVIOUSLY had fun at Grandma & Grandpa's house this weekend; we'll have to visit with them on Skype. (Sorry we never got around to making birthday cake and singing to you, Dad/Papa. We'll have to sing to you in a couple of days! Look for a blue envelope at your house... I left your birthday card there.)

Thanks for a great weekend! It was SO NICE to see you, family!

Wore the new maternity compression stockings on Saturday and was saddened to report that I don't think they are going to work. Thankfully, the box indicates a satisfaction guarantee. I will have to call about returning or exchanging them. When they were ordered, it was determined to order a LARGE, hoping to get enough length for my 33" inseam, but my measurements were all for a MEDIUM. By ordering the larger size, the compression does not feel tight enough in my left leg to keep the swelling down. So, we'll have to see...
