By Friday, when we officially hit 11 weeks, the baby will be about 2" long - roughly the size of a thumb - and will weigh 1/3 oz.
In recent weeks, the baby's hands have transformed from little webbed paddles to hands and feet with individual fingers and toes. On those individual little fingers and toes, nailbeds form this week and by the end of next week, nails will start to grow!
As the baby's diaphragm is forming, hiccups will become more and more common inside the womb. With so much growth and development, baby should be quite active - participating in stretches, somersaults and forward rolls. Other activities include swallowing and kicking. Sadly, BabyMama shouldn't be able to feel ANY of that yet.... not for at least 5 more weeks when baby will be considerably bigger.
Utterly fascinating, this truly is a MIRACLE OF LIFE.
