I was puzzled when I saw that Sydney predicted only THREE chicks would hatch in his classroom. (There are close to 30 eggs in the incubator; I guess a few got dropped when the children transported them into the incubator.) He's not normally a pessimist so, I wondered what his almost-4 year old mind was thinking to pick such low odds. He explains: Well, the teacher brought in three baby ducks to our classroom at school so, I guessed that there would be three chicks... just like the ducks. And then, they would all be friends at my teacher's farm. (He's paying attention and put some thought into his hypothesis.) Like him, I am anxious to SEE the newly hatched chicks; due out of their shells in early May. :) What a FUN experience!
