Uncle Mike had taken a semi-load to Des Moines earlier in the day and did not have enough drive hours to make it back to Milwaukee so, he chose Dubuque as his shut-down destination and we picked him up from the truck stop late morning. (We LOVE when he is able to do that since it is always so nice to see him.)
There was MUCH smiling and talking done today. (Sydney LOVES the attention, especially when he can lay on his back or stand up.)
Uncle Mike and Sydney were rested up, after an early afternoon nap in the recliner, so Sydney was able to stay awake for the meal at the restaurant. At one point in time this afternoon, everyone named MIKE was asleep at the same time so, Mommy and Syd enjoyed some time on the picnic blanket in the side yard. **Uncle Mike even slept with Sydney's mini-monkey blanket, which Uncle Mike called a WOOBIE (referring to the old Michael Keaton movie MR. MOM).

**Don't worry, I snuck a photo (or two) of Uncle Mike sleeping with "the woobie", which I plan to add to this post tomorrow. :)
Tonight, we enjoyed a Friday Night Fish Fry at Catfish Charlie's with Uncle Mike and Grandpa Lowell. At Catfish Charlie's, we ate on the outer deck and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Somehow, Sydney forgot that he hadn't eaten since 2:30pm and made it almost to 7:30pm before realizing that he wanted to eat... and he wanted it RIGHT NOW!
At last, Sydney, the little trooper finished eating (after an hour or so) and Mommy managed to sneak him into his bed. And now... off to bed for Mommy, too. It was a great day, but it does get tiring being a mom.
