Mini F150
For MONTHS, Sydney had talked about wanting to get "one of those tiny cars for children to drive". He flagged one in the Toys R Us flyer last Christmas at Nana's house and was convinced that he wanted one for his birthday. When we assured him that we don't have a big enough yard for one, he assured US not to worry because we could have the birthday party at Grandpa Lowell's house and would have PLENTY of room to drive it there.
Upon completing the summer reading program at the library, the boys got to pick out prizes. Sydney picked a HotWheels matchbox car; it just so happened to have a MatchBox keychain underneath, hiding inside of the package. Immediately, he announced that he was going to SAVE IT for his own tiny car's set of keys.
While visiting Nana & Papa, we met some neighbor kids who HAVE one of these tiny automobiles. While out walking the dog, they had announced "If you guys are going to the playground, you can have a turn to drive it!" (I've never seen the boys move SO FAST to get back home again to drop off the dog. For once, there was NO FIGHTING, STALLING or SCREWING AROUND! They were strictly business!)
Sydney quickly discovered that these tiny cars come with their own special key and that he would NOT need his keychain. I thought THIS was pretty sweet when Sydney decided to SAVE his keychain for when he drives someday... Wondering if I should tuck it away to remind him of it when he gets his driver's license someday...
