Scene: Wild child Sydney runs over to mom and screams *SOMETHING* inaudible at her while she sits on the couch.
MOM: "WHAT???? I have NO IDEA what you just said."
SYDNEY: (calmly and at an appropriate decibel)
I said "I am a porcupine!"
MOM: (laughs) Oh, I see. Do you even KNOW what a porcupine is?
SYDNEY: "It's kind of like a cactus."
Mom and Dad look at each other and smile in unison. It really IS kind of like a cactus.
Great observation from the mind of our 3-year-old.
For the record, there IS "a very deserving porcupine" in our Harold and the purple crayon book so, he has seen one there. (I think he recently saw one on tv, as well.)
